Police arrested on Monday Saleiman Kasab, a 29-year-old Palestinian from Khan Yunis in Gaza, for staying in Israel illegally and for carrying out an arson attack in Ramla.
He was also reportedly involved in planning abductions, terrorist attacks and shootings.
Kasab entered Israel in January 2020 with approval to accompany his mother, who was being treated in Israel for a serious illness. After his mother’s treatment was completed, Kasab took advantage of the permit he was given and remained in Israel as an illegal resident.
Interrogations of Kasab revealed that between September 30 and October 4 of this year, Kasab carried out arson attacks in Ramla.
It was also revealed that Kasab had worked with al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades organization to promote serious terrorist attacks against Israel and that Kasab was originally supposed to receive weapons to carry out these attacks.
