An 18-year-old woman was found lifeless at her Beersheba apartment in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Her 25-year-old partner was present at the apartment when Israel Police officers responded to a report of her death.
Following an interrogation of the man, he was arrested for murder and will be brought before the Beersheba District Court on Saturday evening to extend his arrest.

Relatives of the woman blamed Israel Police and the legal system saying that the incident could have been prevented. The police “ignored previous violent incidents,” said a relative of the woman, who said the police could have prevented the murder.

“He has an open case in the Beersheba station from the last few months, and additional violent incidents in the Netanya station, many of them [violence] towards his partner,” added the relative.
“We all knew this would end badly,” said the woman’s sister. “We all tried to do everything we could but she thought it would be ok and that he would change.”
“The writing was on the wall,”  said Hagit Peer, the chair of Na’amat. “This is a terrible tragedy. From the details, it appears that the suspect was released recently after already attacking the murdered woman in the past.
“This case obligates all authorities – Israel Police, welfare, social services – to examine if there were points in time when  intervention could have prevented this terrible end.”
