IDF career soldiers who refuse to get tested or vaccinated against the coronavirus will be put on unpaid leave, KAN news reported on Thursday.
As of Thursday, there are currently less than 450 active cases in the IDF.

Back in March, the IDF stated that it was the first military in the world to achieve herd immunity when cases were really low at the time.
Furthermore, in August, it was reported that COVID rules in the IDF stated that only those who are vaccinated will draft to the reserves.
Last month, the IDF has purchased hundreds of remote Coronavirus testing devices made by Israeli start-up Tyto Care.

Within the US military, thousands of American troops have so far remained unvaccinated, according to a report last month by The Washington Post, despite an order by the Pentagon for all soldiers to receive the vaccine.
Almost 12,000 personnel serving in the US Air Force have rejected orders to receive the vaccine.
A New York Times report from last week stated, however, that the vast majority of troops have received their shots, with 93% of them vaccinated with the first dose and 87% of soldiers having received also their second.
Any requests not to be vaccinated solely based on religious beliefs “are coming under close scrutiny in the military,” the report said.
Udi Shaham contributed to this report.
