Ola Kravchenko’s lawyer, Daniel Haklai, spoke with 103FM on Thursday, in light of her unconventional appeal to the State Attorney’s Office, with a demand to reopen the investigation file against her former partner.

Kravchenko went public with her story last month in a documentary on Kan, wherein she detailed how her toxic ten-year relationship with her ex-boyfriend eventually led her to be ruthlessly harassed after being accused for the murder of 14-year-old Tair Rada in 2006.Rada’s gruesome 2006 murder in the bathroom of a Katzrin middle school was explored in detail in the award-winning three-part docuseries Shadow of Truth, which came out in 2016.
Kravchenko was publicly accused several times of murdering Rada by the show’s creators, despite their only evidence for such a claim coming from Kravchenko’s ex-boyfriend, who by then, had already confessed to raping and beating her to Israel Police.
On Tuesday, Kravchenko decided to file charges against her former partner once again, adding to the rape charges a charge of libel for the massive harassment campaign which was spurred by his testimony on the show – testimony which the court found he plotted meticulously, as a revenge against Kravchenko.
Regarding the accusation, Haklai said, “We have a confession, the case exists, he admitted that he committed sodomy on her and attacked her severely. The prosecution closed the case against him, but did not bother to update [Kravchenko], the victim. To our shock, we just found out about it now.”
According to Haklai, Kravchenko was abused by her partner for ten years. “He admitted to the police that he broke her jaw, attacked her multiple times; we are talking about constant physical abuse. He admitted to committing sodomy once – we are talking about sexual abuse. After she had the courage to leave, he sent threatening messages, distributed nude photos of her online and attempted to blackmail her.”
“There cannot be a situation where those coping mentally are abandoned this way,” Haklai said. “If the prosecution files an indictment against him – well done. If not? We will appeal to the High Court.”Last month, the attorney for Roman Zadorov, the Russian immigrant janitor who was convicted for murdering Rada, continued to claim that Kravchenko was “100% Rada’s murderer,” and that “the courts were wrong” to convict his client.
