Bus driver attacked after telling passenger to wear a mask

A passenger on the 461 bus from Ariel to Jerusalem attacked the driver after being told to wear a mask on Friday, Ynet reported.A 21-year-old resident of Shiloh in the West Bank was arrested towards the evening on suspicion of carrying out the attack.The arrest was extended for three days as the investigation is ongoing.
The passenger boarded the bus without his mask and cursed at the driver when he was asked to put it on. The driver then told the passenger not to curse at him, in response to which the passenger threw his phone at the driver’s face.

The driver was taken to a hospital. The incident joins a long list of violent responses since the mask mandate was first instituted, from people who were asked to wear a maskA 39-year-old man named Oshri Edri beat a 70-year-old woman on December 1, 2020, after she requested that he put on his mask while the two were in an elevator. The woman was hospitalized and is still recuperating,An Egged bus driver was severely assaulted in Rishon Lezion on February 5th,  after asking a passenger to wear his mask. The passenger complied, but a different passenger took offense and began verbally assaulting the driver. He eventually assaulted the driver physically.And on April 8th, a 30-year-old man from Tiberias was severely injured after he was brutally attacked on a bus for asking a passenger to put on a face mask. The man needed emergency surgery as a result.
