Prime Minister Naftali Bennett will push back against international organizations’ double standards against Israel in his speech to the United Nations next week, his spokesman said on Thursday.
“The speech will be different from the style of [former prime minister Benjamin] Netanyahu’s speeches,” Bennett’s spokesman Matan Sidi said. “There will not be visual aids, posters, drawings, etc.”
The core message of the speech will be to defend Israel against the double standards it faces.

In addition, Bennett will speak about the Iranian nuclear threat, saying: “We will do what is necessary.”
The speech is scheduled to take place at 9 a.m. in New York and 4 p.m. in Israel, before the holiday of Simhat Torah begins on Monday evening. Bennett will stay in the US for only one day of the holiday because he is Israeli; Diaspora Jews observe two days.
The prime minister is expected to hold sideline meetings with other leaders at the UN.
Netanyahu tweeted that “Bennett’s obsession with differentiating himself from Netanyahu in every way costs Israel in the fight against Corona, against the Iran nuclear program and the diplomatic struggle against the Palestinians.
“Instead of ridiculously attacking Prime Minister Netanyahu’s many successful speeches at the UN, Bennett should read those speeches closely and learn how to win the world’s attention and enlist it to Israel’s interests,” he stated. “Good luck.”
Bennett also plans to meet with leaders of Jewish organizations in New York, after he was unable to do so in Washington last month, due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The prime minister plans to give an address about the connection between Israel and the Jewish Diaspora.
“He plans to tell the story of the new government to those who distanced themselves from Israel in recent years, in order to bring them back to support,” Sidi said.
Bennett will also speak about his personal story, as the son of immigrants from the US to Israel, having spent years of his life in the US.
