Israel’s State attorney’s Office filed an amended indictment against Roman Zadorov, who was released to house arrest in August ahead of his retrial for the murder of Tair Rada in 2006, Israeli media reported on Sunday.
Zadorov’s indictment charge was changed to “murder under aggravated circumstances,” and new witnesses were added, including Ola Kravchenko, who was previously accused of committing the murder. The charges against her have since been dropped.
The correction intends to amend the indictment in order to suit reforms regarding killing and murder cases that have been implemented since the original trial, which began 15 years ago, claims the prosecution.

Zadorov was thrice convicted of murdering 13-year-old Tair Rada, who was brutally killed in a bathroom stall in her high school in 2006.
Zadorov was the custodian at the school at the time and was immediately suspected of the crime, although, throughout the years, questions have been raised regarding the true identity of the murderer.
A few months ago, Chief Justice Hanan Meltzer ruled that Zadorov is eligible for a retrial, and he has been released to house arrest to await the court date.
