30-year-old Arab man shot to death in Haifa

Hussam ‘Uthman has been identified as the 30-year-old man who was shot do death in Haifa after unknown assailants opened fire at his car, Israeli media reported Thursday night. 
He was evacuated from the scene to Rambam Medical Center while undergoing resuscitation attempts by Magen David Adom paramedics but was declared dead shortly after. 
Additionally, a fire originating in a flaming vehicle spread to nearby field in the southern region of Haifa, Hof Division of Fire and Rescue said Thursday. No injuries were reported and the fire was extinguished. It is unclear whether the incident is connected to the shooting.

Police are investigating the event, which appears to be an assassination attempt, Israeli media reported Thursday night. The young man, a Haifa resident, was shot several times while riding in his car on Allenby street in the city.
This brings to 91 the murder cases of in the Arab sector in Israel since the beginning of 2021, according to the Abraham Initiative group.
A short while earlier, MDA reported a man was in serious condition suffering stab wounds in a home in Taybeh. Police assess the man may have been attacked by a family member and have opened investigations, arresting a 35-year-old suspect who was caught carrying an attack instrument, N12 reported Thursday night.
“We continue losing our boys and the government is carrying on normally,” tweeted Ayman Odeh, head of the Joint List party. “There are no words,” he said, including the hashtag #ArabLivesMatter in Hebrew.
